Aid Management Platform

The Aid Management Platform (click here for external link to AMP) is a web-based platform for improving the efforts of mutual accountability in the aid cooperation between GoT and DPs in Tanzania by means of capturing aid flows, disbursements and projections.

Since February 2008, MoFEA with support of the Development Gateway Foundation (DGF) and in cooperation with the World Bank, OECD, UNDP and the Government of Ethiopia has been installing a web-based Aid Management Platform (AMP). The AMP is a very comprehensive database system for the management of ODA funded activities and as such intended to improve work processes to report and validate project commitments and disbursements, and consolidate implementation reports. As such the AMP will improve the efforts of mutual accountability in the aid cooperation between GoT and DPs in Tanzania by means of capturing aid flows, disbursements and MTEF projections.

For the GoT, the AMP will allow ministries to access all the information for the ODA projects they manage, as entered by MoFEA. They will also be able to report and manage their own records of progress reports, M&E indicators and expenditure. DPs will also have access to all the data entered and managed by GoT for each of the projects they support. Each DP will therefore be granted access to a DP unique work station where project information will be accessible, including capturing disbursement information and MTEF projections.

A smooth running AMP will in this respect greatly enhance transparency of aid flows and allocations; and most importantly, the AMP will provide a strong foundation for GoT to build its ownership and leadership of aid management in Tanzania.

For more information on the AMP see below key documents or contact the DPG Secretariat (christian.shingiro(at)undp.org).
