DPG Field Trip to Kigoma 31/1 to 3/2 2010

During four activity packed days, the DPG Main went on a field visit to Kigoma situatuated by the Lake Tanganyika in Western Tanzania.

The trip involved field visits to various local government service delivery points such as Hospital, Clinics, dispensaries, primary and secondary schools, vocational training centres, water points, agriculture projects, as well as port and railways.

The visit also provided an opportunity for the DPG members to discuss with local government officials, council members and NGOs the progress of the Local Government Reform in Tanzania together with emerging challenges in implementation, budget contral, accountability and human resource management.
