Joint Programming and the Development Partner Groups

The Government of Tanzania and Development Partners have had a strong focus on improving aid co-operation and co-ordination in response to the recent Paris and Accra agendas. A joint programming mechanism resulting in the Joint Assistance Strategy for Tanzania (JAST) forms the base of development partners' engagement in Tanzania.

Policy dialogue is facilitated by the development partners groups, the development partner group on environment (DPG-E) being one of them. The purpose of DPGs is mainly information sharing, enhance the quality of dialogue and engagement, the definition of focus areas, division of labour and aid effectiveness.
