The outline of DPG-E' s policy dialogue

Policy dialogue in environment, natural resources management and climate change will be led by the DPG-E co-chairs with support of the DPG-E focal points: Denmark for environment, DFID for climate change, Norway for REDD, Finland for natural resources management, USAID for wildlife and France for research.

Policy dialogue takes place at GBS level, at cluster working group level and at minister level. DPG-E will ensure the DPs are participating in this policy dialogue with one voice. While the DPG-E chairs will take a lead in policy dialogue, they will always ensure the mandate of the group. Any division of labour and the detailed messages of the policy dialogue will be agreed by the group. DPG-E will discuss and prioritise in which policy forums to participate.

To ensure harmonisation, DPG-E members have discussed and agreed the following approach to key policy entry points with the Government of Tanzania:

  • Permanent Secretaries or ministers of the key ministries: Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Cooperatives; Ministry of Water and Irrigation; Ministry of Energy and Minerals; Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries; and Ministry of Infrastructure Development.
  • Government of Tanzania financial authorities: Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs and National Auditing Office.
